As I ponder on life, I came to the realization that everyone both men and women have had to cry or shed tears at one point or the other in their lives. The rich cry, though mainly behind closed doors, the poor also cry; our leaders cry and even God’s Generals at one time or the other cried. Our birth was not without pains and tears. We started life with crying and our demise evokes same. Sometimes I ask myself what is life all about and what is the meaning of all the pain and tears?

Looking at the TV screen I see and hear of wars, earthquakes, landslides, tsunamis, bomb blasts, killings, human trafficking and the likes. Every day men and women keep rolling into the graves, after living lives of tears. The world has advanced in technology but this same technology has placed the world in its state of greatest unrest and insecurity. Life expectancy has dropped drastically to 45-70years across the nations. Sometimes we ask is it worthwhile to advance in knowledge?

When you carefully observe your environment, you will hear names of people, even those you once loved, yet you can’t see them anymore having been visited by our “inevitable end”. I look at the beauties of the world as they rise as adorable legends but only to settle proudly for the shameful and for this I cry. I see believers sometimes struggle even to feed well- the irony of life. And I ask myself, when will all these end, is there an end to the sorrows of man? The answer is YES. The song writer said “across the bridge there shall be no sorrow and across the river there shall be no more pain”

THE CITY FAR ABOVE THE BLUE

There is a city far above the blue and beyond the sky. There is a home prepared for you and me by God (John14). “…….and the street of the CITY was pure gold like transparent glass” (Rev21: 21). In this city there is neither night nor day, the gates are always open, Jesus is the light of the city (Rev21:23, 24).

NO TEARS FOREVER

In this glorious city and home, there shall be no more tears. The bible says “and God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying; there shall be no more pain for the former things have passed away” (Rev21: 4). Almost everything in this life has failed. People have invested their strength and life in a business, only to lose all to fraudsters and many have even died at the onset of their reaping season.

Dear friend, I don’t know what you are seeking for and what your priorities are, but I want to say that there is no place for rest in this life outside Christ. Not even the riches, pleasures and treasures of this life can save your soul. Since all these fail, won’t it be wiser to consider our priorities and channel more effort towards our course of entering His rest in this great city of gold? To enter this city, we need Jesus in our lives for it is only then that we can be entitled to this glorious city. No sinner will enter this city but the repented and righteous will. A crown is reserved in heaven for you. The bible says “to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away reserved in heaven for you” (1Pet1: 4). Today you can receive the Lord Jesus into your life. He is the only one that can give you rest. He is the only one who can wipe away your tears and give you hope for eternity; for across the bridge there is no more sorrow.

If you want to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour say this prayer “Lord Jesus have mercy upon me and forgive me of my sins, wash me clean with your blood, wipe my name out from the book of death and write my name in the book of life, I believe that you died for me and I accept you today as my Lord and personal Saviour, thank you for saving me, in Jesus name”.
